The knowledge of their sacrifice will keep us forever vigilant against those who would do us harm. But we are also heirs to those who won the peace and not just the war; who turned sworn enemies into the surest of friends — and we must carry those lessons into this time as well.

で「彼らの犠牲を知っていることで、我々に害をなす者たちに対する警戒を私たちは永遠に怠らないでしょう。しかし私たちはまた戦争に勝利しただけではなく平和を勝ち取った者たちの後継者でもあります。つまり宿敵を、確実な友人に変えた者たちです。そして私たちはそれらの教訓を今回にも持ち込まねばなりません。」という意味になります。

The knowledge of their sacrifice で「彼らの犠牲を知っていること」です。
will keep us forever vigilant で「～は、私たちを永遠に用心深くさせるでしょう」です。
keep ～ … で「～を…の状態にしておく」です。
vigilant は「警戒して、油断のない」という意味の形容詞です。
vigilant against those who ～ で「～な者たちに対して用心深い」です。
どんな者たちかというと、
(those who) would do us harm. で「私たちに害をなす（者たち）」です。
do harm で「害を及ぼす」です。do harm to ～, または do ～ harm で「～に害をなす」となります。
例：do more harm than good「利益よりも損害を多くもたらす」

But we are also heirs to ～ で「しかし、私たちは同時に～の後継者でもある」
heir エアーで「後継者、相続人、継承者」という意味の名詞です。h は発音しません
heir to ～ で「～の後継者」となります。
誰の後継者かというと、
(to) those who won the peace で「平和を勝ち取った者たち」です。
win ～ は「～を勝ち取る」という意味と、「～に勝利する」という意味もあります。
and not just the war は「そして戦争に勝つだけではなく」です。
win the war で「戦争に勝つ」ですね。

who turned ～ into … で「（その者たちは）～を…に変えた」です。
who は先ほどの those を修飾しています。
turned sworn enemies into the surest of friends で「宿敵を、確実な友人に変えた」です。
turn ～ into …「～を…に変える」
sworn enemy で「目の敵、憎くてたまらない敵」という意味の言い回しです。
sworn は「誓った」という意味です。
反対に sworn friend だと「盟友、刎頚の友」となります。

and「そして」
we must carry those lessons into this time as well.「我々はそれらの教訓を今回にも持ち込まなければならない」
those lessons「それらの教訓」
carry ～ into … で「～を…に持ち込む、…まで持っていく」です。
this time で「今回」です。
as well は、後ろに付けて「～も（同様に）」という意味になります。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

彼らの犠牲を知っていることで

will keep us forever vigilant against
私たちは永遠に～に対して用心し続けるだろう

those who would do us harm.
私たちに害をなす者達に対して

But we are also heirs to those
しかし私たちは同時に～な者達の後継者でもある

who won the peace and not just the war;
戦争に勝っただけではなく、平和を勝ち取った（者達）

who turned sworn enemies
宿敵を～に変えた（者達）

into the surest of friends
本当の友達に
